Since 2018, IMR has partnered with GOALS Haiti, a grassroots organization that engages the region’s youth in athletics as a means of developing leadership, team building, and health consciousness. Through our partnership with GOALS, IMR provides seminars to aspiring healthcare providers in the Leogane region of Haiti and provides primary care to areas that are currently underserved by local healthcare systems. In addition, we support the healthcare education of local practitioners through a scholarship program.

The primary care clinic run by IMR serves the wider community and offers an opportunity for hands-on training for those healthcare workers attending the seminar.  Our partnership with GOALS creates a foundational link towards building a sustained effort in promoting healthcare in the future to Leogane.

Women’s Collaborative Project

IMR started working with the National Hospital in 2014 to bring vaginal/pelvic reconstructive surgical skills training to local OBGYN faculty and residents. Since then, we have expanded our partnership to St. Boniface Hospital and the public hospital in Fonds-des-Blanc, Croix des Bouquet. In addition to surgical training, IMR has also provided ultrasound skills training, presented lectures to medical and nursing students about emergencies in obstetric settings, and UROGYN lectures at the Haitian Society of OBGYN meetings.

We partner with the Haitian Society of OBGYN, the Ministry of Health, UNFPA, and local Haitian physicians.
